Shelby County Government’s Division of Planning and Development is proposing a substantial action plan amendment to the Shelby County National Disaster Resilience Action Plan. The updated plan will be submitted by Shelby County Government to the U.S. Department of HUD by June 19, 2024, after a period for public review and comment. The NDR grant was awarded to Shelby County in 2016 and provides funding to implement long-term resilience strategies that fortify the county against future floods. The NDR activities focus on improvement to three geographical areas, one in each local watershed, and development of the Regional Resilience Plan. All four activities are outlined and described in greater detail in the NDR Action Plan, as amended. All Action Plan materials are available for review at www.resilientshelby.com. If approved, this action plan amendment will allow for the following changes to the grant:
Action Plan amendment materials can be viewed below as well as an option to submit a public comment. If you provide a comment, please keep your comments concise and clear. The County will provide a response to all comments after the comment period window closes on June 14.
